Ice Problem?

Our bread and butter is heat cable. It's a great way to safely melt ice and create paths for water to flow off of your roof. Heat cable also acts as a safety measure, preventing dangerous ice buildups that can fall and cause serious damage. Heat cable is good for keeping walkways and driveways clear, preventing exterior pipes from freezing, and keeping gutters on your house.

Heat cable was not heating up, allowing heavy ice buildup, which led to gutter damage and leaking. Electrical issue was traced to a bad GFEP pigtail, where water had entered due to no drip loop at the power location.
Picture
Heat cable was improperly installed by forcibly ramming it down a downspout, leading to tears in the cable, causing water to get into the ground braid and short the system.
