Officially created in 2024, Colorado Heat Cable is a small business that provides the niche service of heat cable installation with a special expertise. Yes, there are plenty of other companies that will install heat cable, but it's not something they regularly do, or are very knowledgeable in. We have seen many installations that were incorrectly done by electricians, roofers, and gutter companies that simply didn't know what they were doing. We've seen it all... from zig-zags not properly covering the eave all the way up to the "warm wall", to bad electrical systems that constantly trip the breakers and are fire hazards. If a heat cable system is not properly installed with the correct knowledge and know-how, it can make things worse. Ice can build up in new unusual places. Water can not be properly channeled off the roof and can cause leaking. Heat cable that is unreliable or doesn't work can allow gutters to freeze over and be torn off the facia board.
